Guitar has a non-original VH-1 in the neck (taken from an 3-pickup Burny SG) and a Gibson Burstbucker Pro 2 (slightly hotter wind) in the bridge. I'd dearly love one of those - if (as is highly unlikely, curses!) - they did 'em left handed. Previous owner replaced a lot of the electronics some pots, pickups, etc. The nut seems to be a Standard plastic nut as it. The tuners seem like generic green-key tuners and are not of the highest quality but they do the job. Burny did (maybe still do?) at some point between 19 a Steve Jones signature model, which was a spot-on visual recreation of the Never Mind The Bollocks Les Paul, and by all accounts were stunning guitars. The volume and tone controls work very well. Unbeatable clear, ballsy rock sound - obviously nothing like the same construction, but it sounds like my ears tell me a GREAT SG should.Īfter the Sex Pistols reformed (I got into LPs because of Steve Jones - what other reason is there? I mean, really?), Steve jones became disenchanted with the attitude Gibson apparently had to him, given how many white Les Pauls have probably been sold cause of him, and he got rid of his Gibsons and went to Burny. Lovely to play, though the guitar is much wider at the nut than I typically prefer. Bought them on eBay for very little - I lucked out - but they're going up in value all the time. The neck profile sports a clean gloss finish.I have a Westone Thunder IA and matching Thunder IA Bass in the sought after natural finish - stunning quality. The gloss Ebony finish is framed by multi-ply binding, and cosmetic wear is limited to light scattered nicks and finish scratches on the body as whole. All of the gold-plated hardware is original, including the ABR-1-style bridge and stopbar, and plastics include a quartet of black bonnet knobs, an amber switch tip, and the original pickguard.

The full-size pots date to 1990, and the two tiny "VH-1" stickers are still intact on the humbucker mounting rings (mimicking the "PAF" stickers Gibson used on their humbucker rings advertising their Tim Shaw pickups a few years earlier).

Up for sale, a 1990 Burny RLC-65 "Black Beauty" LP Custom electric guitar in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. From my research before buying, the real Burny Gems were the early to mid 80s ones made in Japan with the VH-1 PAF clones, and this is an 85 and apparently rare, valued in the 900-1200 range while new and vintage edwards and tokai 335 clones are in the 1200-1500 range.
